How to Open a HUF Trading and Demat Account: Step-by-Step Guide?

To open a Demat and Trading Account for a Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) with RMoney, the Karta can apply on behalf of the HUF, which is recognized as a separate legal entity. The following section outlines the necessary documents, procedural steps, and compliance requirements for account opening.

 Type of document Requirements
Application form
  • Equity application form (PDF).
  • Segment addition forms to trade in commodities (PDF)
HUF Declaration and Annexure
  • Declaration and Annexures (PDF).
PAN
  • A PAN card copy of the HUF with seal and signature.
  • A PAN card copy of the Karta with HUF seal and signature.
  • Self-attested PAN card copy of karta.
  • Self-attested PAN card copy of the co-parcener or member.
Address proof
  • Address proof of the HUF with seal and signature. The address proof can be the latest transaction copy of the HUF bank statement or passbook.
  • Address proof of the Karta with HUF seal and signature.
  • Self-attested address proof of karta. Address proof can be any of the following: Aadhaar, driving licence, voter ID or passport. If an Aadhaar is being submitted as proof, ensure a masked Aadhaar is submitted.
Bank account proof
  • Cancelled cheque with the HUF name printed.
  • A bank statement or bank passbook copy with the bank account number, MICR, and IFSC code clearly visible.
Income proof
  • Any of the following income proof to activate the F&O and commodity segment:
  • The latest six months’ bank statement or passbook of the HUF account.
  • Latest year audited profit and loss statement.
  • Latest year Income Tax Return (ITR) acknowledgement.
  • Net-worth certificate from the chartered accountant with the UDIN number specified.
  • DP holding statement of the entity.

 

Steps to proceed:

  1. Email scanned copies of all completed forms and documents to askus@rmoneyindia.com for initial review.
  2. After approval, courier the signed physical documents and a cheque in favour of Raghunadan Capital Private ltd. to the following address:

Account processing may take 3-5 working days post-receipt of valid documents

Account Opening Charges

RMoney does not charge any fee for HUF Account opening.

Important Notes

  • Nomination Not Permitted: CDSL does not allow nomination in non-individual demat accounts like HUF.
  • Change of Karta: If the Karta has changed due to the demise of the previous Karta, submit a notarised copy of the death certificate along with HUF seal and signature.
  • Minor Members: Minors listed as co-parceners cannot sign; a legal guardian must sign on their behalf.
