STOCKS IN NEWS

  • Nippon Life India Asset Management: Nippon India Mutual Fund has become the first asset management company in India to surpass the 4-crore folio milestone, highlighting its strong retail investor base.
  • ONGC: The PSU has commenced drilling its first deepwater exploratory well in the Mahanadi offshore basin, marking the beginning of its campaign to unlock India’s deep and ultra-deepwater hydrocarbon potential.
  • Tata Technologies: CEO & MD Warren Harris expressed confidence that FY27 will be a breakout year, driven by increased investments from global automobile manufacturers and a strong pipeline of full vehicle development projects.
  • Hindustan Zinc: The Vedanta Group company plans to invest $500–600 million (around ₹5,000 crore) during the current financial year. Around 80% of the capex will be allocated to ongoing projects, while the remaining 20% will fund upcoming expansion initiatives.
  • Engineers India: The PSU has entered into an agreement with the Directorate General of Maritime Administration to provide engineering consultancy, technical advisory, and project management services for the development and modernization of India’s maritime infrastructure.
  • Shriram Finance: The NBFC aims to increase the contribution of gold loans to 5% of its overall loan book over the next three years. It also plans to raise the share of MSME loans to 20% of its portfolio over the medium term.
  • Mahindra Lifespace Developers: The real estate developer reported more than a two-fold jump in Q1 sales bookings to ₹925 crore. During the quarter, it sold 0.6 million sq. ft. and launched 1.36 million sq. ft. of new projects.
  • Waaree Renewable Technologies: The company has secured two Letters of Award (LoAs) for executing EPC works for two ground-mounted solar PV plants with a combined capacity of 800 MWac / 1,082 MWp.
  • NBCC (India): The company has received two new work orders worth ₹20.42 crore and ₹88.43 crore from the National Horticulture Board and the Directorate of Technical Education & Training (Odisha), respectively.
  • Hirect (formerly Hind Rectifiers): The company has secured its first development order worth ₹60 crore for the Vande Metro (Namo Bharat) trainset from Indian Railways.
  • NTPC: The PSU reported a 13% YoY increase in consolidated net profit to ₹6,896.44 crore for Q1FY27, while total income rose to ₹51,141.51 crore. The board also approved raising up to ₹12,000 crore through the issuance of non-convertible debentures (NCDs).
  • Jindal Steel: The company’s consolidated net profit declined 43.53% YoY to ₹843.80 crore in Q1, although total income increased to ₹15,501.32 crore during the quarter.
  • SAIL: The PSU reported more than a two-fold increase in consolidated net profit to ₹1,644.05 crore in Q1, while total income rose to ₹26,451.21 crore. However, crude steel production declined to 4.76 million tonnes (MT).

BULK DEALS

  • Shadowfax Technologies: Eight Roads Investments Mauritius II sold 4.16 crore shares at ₹204.88 per share and an additional 54.64 lakh shares at ₹204.62 per share, offloading a combined 8.04% stake worth approximately ₹964.37 crore.
  • Sudeep Pharma: SBI Mutual Fund acquired an additional 20 lakh shares, representing a 1.77% stake, from Nuvama for ₹160 crore at ₹800 per share.
  • Caliber Mining and Logistics: Carnelian Asset Management & Advisors, backed by Vikas Khemani, acquired 20 lakh shares (a 3.05% stake) at ₹494.85 per share, amounting to ₹98.97 crore. Separately, Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE ODI purchased 3.34 lakh shares (a 0.51% stake) at ₹497.94 per share, valued at ₹16.65 crore.
  • Gandhar Oil Refinery India: Societe Generale acquired an additional 8.53 lakh shares, representing a 0.87% stake, at ₹288.97 per share for ₹24.65 crore, following its 0.7% stake purchase in the company during the previous trading session.
