How to Pledge Securities in the RMoney Tradion App?
By: Vaibhav Rawat | Date : Mar 26, 26
If you hold shares in your Demat Account, you don’t always need to sell them to access additional trading margin.
Instead, you can pledge your securities and unlock margin against your existing holdings, allowing you to take new trading positions while continuing to hold your investments.
In this guide, we will explain what pledging means and how you can pledge your securities easily using the RMoney Tradion App.
What is Pledging?
Pledging is the process of using your existing shares in your holdings as collateral to obtain trading margin.
When securities are pledged, the broker provides margin based on the approved value of those shares, after applying a haircut. The haircut represents the percentage of the stock’s value that cannot be used as margin, helping manage risk.
This allows investors to utilize the value of their holdings without selling them, making pledging a useful tool for active traders.
Do note that only SEBI-approved securities are eligible for pledging https://rmoneyindia.com/download-category/daily-margin-files/
