NIFTY INDEX DAILY REPORT
Nifty 50 index showcased strength, staging an impressive turnaround after shaking off morning declines. The market opened on a cautious note at 24,175.75 points, reflecting a drop from the preceding session’s close of 24,219.05, as investors initially proceeded with caution amid volatile derivative positioning and upcoming weekly options expirations. However, intense buying interest emerged during the final trading hour, triggering a rapid wave of short-covering across major sectors that carried the index all the way to its session high of 24,334.55. By the end of the day, the Nifty 50 locked in these peak gains, finishing the day up 115.50 points, or roughly 0.48%. From a technical perspective, this solid rebound above the psychologically important 24,300 mark underscores robust market sentiment and reaffirms strong underlying support around its key level of 24,006, providing a positive momentum foundation as the trading week progresses.
The Bank Nifty experienced a highly contested and structurally volatile trading session. The banking index initiated the day on a cautious note, opening with a gap down at 57,360.65, a noticeable retreat from the previous session’s closing mark of 57,525.95. This concerted upward push propelled the index to an intraday peak of 57,648.00. Unfortunately for the bulls, the heavy overhang of expiry-related position unwinding and aggressive contract squaring ultimately capped these gains, preventing any sustained afternoon breakout.Bank Nifty had settled into a slightly negative posture at 57,467.55, registering a marginal loss of 58.40 points.Crucially, holding above its 50-day moving average (57,200–57,250 support zone) leaves the underlying medium-term bullish structure intact.
Nifty Pharma index pulled off an impressive intraday recovery to finish solidly in the green. The healthcare sector started on a sluggish note, dipping early from its previous close of 26,339.30 to test support near the 26,160 mark. However, sustained buying in heavyweights like Sun Pharma and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories effectively countered selling pressure seen in mid-tier formulation and active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) stocks. Technically, by bouncing off its 20-day exponential moving average and staying comfortably above the critical 50-day moving average (25,795), Nifty Pharma reinforced its broader bullish trend and cemented its role as a reliable safe-haven sector during choppy trading environments.
NIFTY DAILY CHART
The Nifty50 traded with positive momentum and managed to reach above the psychological level of 24,250 and settled at 24,334.55. This upside in the index has provided cushion to the nifty to reach 24,350-24,400. Else index may fizzle again to the level of 24,100, if it fails to sustain 24,250 level. However, fall in RSI is indicating pressure in the index. If RSI pulls itself above 40, then we may see Nifty gaining momentum for the upside destination.

Equity Market Technical Analysis Snapshot: Aug 25th, 2026
NIFTY50:

Nifty opened around 24,175.75 and witnessed selling pressure during the first half of the session, making a low of 24,115.45, before a strong recovery in the second half pushed the index higher to settle around 24,334.55. The trend has improved to sideways to bullish, with immediate resistance at 24,400 and 24,515, while support is placed at 24,250 and 24,100. Nifty remains below the 200-DMA but has reclaimed and is trading above the 30-DMA and 11-DMA, indicating improving short-term momentum. RSI at 52.39 has moved above the neutral zone, supporting a cautious bullish bias. A sustained breakout above 24,400 could further strengthen the recovery.
BANKNIFTY:

Bank Nifty opened around 57,360.65 and initially moved higher to 57,653.85 before witnessing selling pressure and declining to a low of 57,231.25.
