NIFTY INDEX DAILY REPORT
Nifty 50 traded with sluggish momentum for the third straight trading session and closed down by 0.46% to settle the day below 24,500 at 24,471.70. Index faced pressure amid weekly option expiry loop, also bearish global sentiment amid uncertainty in Middle east that pushed the oil prices higher. Further fall in the banking sector also weighed on the index, which touched the intra day low of 24,429.25. However, buying in IT sector supported the index with buying seen in HCL tech and Tech Mahindra.Further FII’s also became the net buyer worth ₹1974.76 crores, also brought back some positivity in the market thus limiting the fall in the index. However, sustained trading below 24,500 would make index weaker towards the level of 24,250.
The Bank Nifty index extended its bearish session for the third consecutive day and plunged by 0.42% to settle the index below its crucial support level of 57,500, at the level 57,446.25.This sluggishness in index was triggered by persistent institutional selling and an internal sector rotation after State Bank of India’s recent Q1 earnings, which led to consecutive profit-booking cycles. The pressure accelerated by global macroeconomic factors that once again elevated crude oil prices above the mark of $85 per barrel and middle east uncertainty. Private lenders like HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank held key technical support zones near the 50-day EMA, mid-day recovery attempts remained sluggish. Thus,if Bank Nifty fails to pull itself above the mark of 57,500, we can see further weakness in the banking index towards the mark of 57.170.
Nifty FMCG index underperformed and settled the day at the level of 48,787.85 down by 1.17% from the previous close of 49,363.30. The primary catalyst was macro-commodity headwind, as global crude oil prices surged past $85 per barrel amid continuous uncertainty in the Middle East. Sudden surge in oil price have raised concern over elevated packaging, logistics, and surfactant raw material costs, effectively reversing recent input-margin recovery expectations. FMCG index faced pressure amid intraday profit-booking in prominent heavyweights like Tata Consumer Products, followed closely by Nestle India, and Hindustan Unilever (HUL) and ITC also witnessed defensive consolidation, failing to provide the index with necessary support. Index is finding support at48,697, fall below this will make FMCG weaker, else if index manages to trade above the 48,700, then a bounce back to the level o f 49,200 can be seen.
NIFTY DAILY CHART
The Nifty50 couldn’t manage to sustain the momentum and plunged to settle at 24.471.70, and continuing its previous day’s sluggishness, nifty couldn’t break the resistance of 24,500 Thus, the nifty must trade above the mark of 24,500, for further upside to the level of 24,800. Else index may reach a day’s low of 24,250.

Equity Market Technical Analysis Snapshot: Aug 11th, 2026
NIFTY50:

Nifty 50 declined 0.46%, opening around 24,575.10 and witnessing sharp selling pressure immediately after the opening, which dragged the index to an intraday low of 24,429.25. The index then moved in a range and settled at 24,471.70. The trend remains sideways, with the 24,400 level emerging as a crucial support for the next session. Sustaining above 24,400 could keep the bias bullish, while a decisive break below this level may increase selling pressure. Nifty is currently below its 200-DMA and 11-DMA but above the 30-DMA, while the RSI at 56.10 indicates moderate positive momentum. Immediate resistance is placed at 24,530 and 24,650, while support is seen at 24,400 and 24,300. A sustained move above 24,530 could improve the short-term outlook.
BANKNIFTY:

Bank Nifty declined 0.42%, opening around 57,604.35 and witnessing selling pressure from the opening, which pushed the index to an intraday low of 57,158.10. However, buying emerged from lower levels, allowing the index to recover partially and settle at 57,446.25. The trend remains sideways to bearish, as Bank Nifty is trading below its 11-DMA, 30-DMA, and 200-DMA. The RSI at 49.95 indicates neutral momentum and reflects a lack of strong buying conviction. Immediate resistance is placed at 57,800 and 58,050, while support is seen at 57,100 and 56,800. A sustained move above 57,800 could provide some relief, whereas a break below 57,100 may lead to further downside.
| INDICES | SUPPORT | RESISTANCE | TREND |
| NIFTY50 | 24400 | 24530 | Sideways |
| BANK NIFTY | 56800 | 57800 | Sideways to Bearish |
NIFTY MID SELECT:

Nifty Mid Select gained 0.20%, opening around 14,979.55. The index initially declined to an intraday low of 14,897.45, but strong buying emerged from lower levels, pushing it sharply higher to an intraday high of 14,998.80. It eventually settled near the day’s high at 14,990.55. The overall trend remains bullish, with the index trading comfortably above its 11-DMA, 30-DMA, and 200-DMA. The RSI at 63.41 indicates healthy bullish momentum. Immediate resistance is placed at 15,050 and 15,200, while support is seen at 14,900 and 14,800. A sustained breakout above 15,050 could strengthen the ongoing uptrend and potentially push the index toward 15,200.
NIFTY PHARMA:

Nifty Pharma gained 1.03%, opening around 26,506.00. After an initial decline to 26,422.55, strong buying emerged from lower levels, leading to a sharp rally. The index touched an intraday high of 26,757.90 and settled near the day’s high at 26,751.55. The trend remains firmly bullish, with the index trading above its 11-DMA, 30-DMA, and 200-DMA. The RSI at 68.95 indicates strong momentum and is approaching the overbought zone, so some profit booking cannot be ruled out at higher levels. Immediate resistance is placed at the all-time high of 26,801 and 27,000, while support is seen at 26,400 and 26,100. A decisive breakout above 26,801 could lead to fresh upside momentum toward 27,000, while holding above 26,400 will be important for maintaining the bullish structure.
